  1. Dear Ma’am, I am writing to see if I can get a help from you. Currently I’m looking for a company or individual who can introduce African black soap (Alata samina..?) to me so that
I can consider importing such soaps to my country, South Korea which is far away from Africa.
While searching the info, I found your blog introducing a kind of black soap. If you can offer
me with price/lead time/package details etc, that would be very helpful. Or if you are not in such position and could introduce some reliable business partner(manufacturers are preferred) , that will be highly appreciated.

We prefer to buy each soap(110g more or less/individual package) and/or a certain gram
with recycled paper without individual package). Thank you for your cooperation,

    Best Regards,
    Kim

    1. Okay how many individual packs do you want?! I can ship them to you in Korea via DHL, I will get back to you on shipping costs. Please send me an email detailing how many packs you would want and your address. I will give you full pricing details. Thank you

  2. Hello,i have relaxed hair but i want to go natural.how do i go about it?do i have to cut my hair and start afresh to grow my hair.pls i need the basic tips to a natural hair.thanks in anticipation.

    1. Hi!! So glad you have decided to go natural. Well you can cut your hair low or you can transition. I cut my hair low, that was the easiest. I feel your hair grows faster because you only have to take care of one texture. Transitioning is when you stop relaxing your hair and allow the natural hair to keep growing while u gradually cut out the relaxed bits. Basic natural hair tips are, always moisturize. Spray water on your hair first than follow with a moisturizer or oil of your choice. Dry hair breaks rapidly.
Make sure to always use a wide tooth comb and comb you hair when it’s damp. This prevents split ends and breakage.
Sleep with a satin cap always to keep your moisturised and maintain your hair style. The cotton used to make our bed sheets dry out our hair and it’s roughness can pull at our ends.
Do protective styles like braids, weaves, buns etc. But be careful that your hair isn’t pulled too tightly. Tightly pulled hair destroys the hair follicles and causes baldness.
Wash your hair at least once a week to prevent dandruff and other scalp irritations. Use sulphate free shampoos.
Eat healthy!!! Healthy hair starts from within, have lots of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water.

Have a blessed day! Please feel free to ask more questions!! 😊

  5. Hey dear, my name is Ada and I enjoy your blog. I have relaxed hair and it’s very uneven lol. I really want my hair to grow. I don’t know which hair products to use but from your posts I see that Shea butter and coconut oil are good. I don’t want to use weaves or braids any more, I just want to maintain and grow my real hair, in my opinion, with long natural hair, who needs extensions? Lol please give me tips. And congrats on getting married! I wish you the best things that marriage has to offer, GOD’S blessings all the way! 😘

    1. Hello Ada, sorry I havnt replied on until now, I have just recovered from the wedding! But I am back now. Okay here are my favorite basic guidelines that should work on all hair types:
      1. Moisturize: Spray water first, the seal the water in with an oil (coconut oil, olive oil etc) or butter (sheabutter etc). Dry hair will always break of, and water is our only source of moisture all other hair oils are sealants or grease.
      2. Sleep with a satin cap: Helps preserve moisture and prevents your hair from breaking (i.e. prevent the harsh material in our bed sheets from drying and pulling out our hair strands)
      3. Stay way from bad chemicals: In other words try and be as natural as possible, many products in already made shampoos, conditioners and creams are bad for our hair such as alcohol, petroleum jelly, parabens, silicons etc. I dont have the energy to go through all the ingredients so I shampoo(wash) and condition with 100% natural things and use natural oils and butters only. A good natural shampoo easily available in Nigeria is Dudu Osun.
      4. Comb your hair while its damp with a wide tooth comb: Combing hair dry breaks the hair and makes your scalp hurt. Also using small combs pull our too much hair, which makes our hair scanty.
      6. Section your hair before your comb it: Divide your hair into manageable sections, then dampen your hair and comb it from tip to root. This reduces are loss and improves thickness. Since you just cut your hair its still short so you need to comb it in sections when it gets longer, but still comb it while its damp.
      7. Low manipulation: Leave your hair alone, dont brush or comb it to often or change styles to often. Keep it in a protective style for at least 2-3 weeks. Protective styles include braids, weaves, twists and simple updos. Make sure you dont do your protective styles too tightly because that causes hair loss .
      8. Dont do tight braids or weaves or buns. It puts pressure on your edges and can lead to permanent hair loss. So when you are styling your hair please be careful and make sure your hair stylist holds your hair gently or dont touch your front hair at all when styling if possible.
      8. Eat right and drink lots of water: Dark green vegetables like spinach, avocado, eggs, fish, fruits are essential for healthy hair. Hair growth starts from within. Also take vitamin supplements like Vitamin B complex or Vitamin A-Z to make sure you get all the nutrients necessary to grow thick long hair.

  6. Great reply above.

We just wanted to expound on dry hair combing and detangling. We know that detangling natural hair is a very big issue. It has caused many women to run back to chemically treated hair. We suggest using the Take Down Remover cream for detangling/removing protective hairstyles like braids, weaves, extensions, twists and dreadlocks. For very dry matted or tangled hair, cutting is not the issue-just use the Take Down Remover as well.
