My night time routine!

Hi guys!

This is just a quick post detailing what I do to my hair before bed. I perform this ritual to keep my hair moisturised and tangle free constantly. After my recent experience with detangling I have learnt that prevention is better than cure!! Every natural both new and seasoned must keep their hair in a manner that prevents it from tangling on itself while you are asleep. It’s necessary to prevent future breakage and hassle. This process takes about 10-15mins. So here is what I do:

1. I spritz my hair with a mix or rose water and peppermint oil ( this oil is now my new best friend since I discovered it scientifically grows hair, see HERE for that post). That’s why in the video below I kept closing my eyes, the oil stings the eyes a bit. This step is optional and you can go straight to the leave in, but I like the extra moisture it gives.

2. I put my hair in sections, spritz each section with my rose water and peppermint oil, follow with either my Mielle Organics White Peopy Leave in conditioner or My Brazen curls Kiwi creme leave in, both are sold HERE, then I use my Brazen curls growth enhancing oil also sold at the beautifully nappy shop, then seal all the moisture up with Brazen curls hair and body butter.

3. I twist up each section after moisturizing. Afterwards I roll each section up in a Bantu knot, this step is totally optional.

As you can see in the video I do light finger detangling and dusting as well, so my hair is nice and tangle free in the morning.

Please see the video below for full details. This is so cool I am easing into doing videos!! Yay lol.

Results this morning!!!

The Rejuvenating Marula Oil

 Hi Guys,
I checked the date and realised I have started again! Lol although I have a good excuse, I am mommy and it’s not easy oh!!! Anyway let’s get to it! So I decided to try out this beautiful oil called Marula oil and I love it!!! It works so well on my skin, even better than my favourite Rosehip Oil. So far, since I have been using it I have noticed my skin is more radiant, my dark spots from pimples are clearing out faster, and its reducing my breakouts! I have also been using it in combination with lemon and tea tree essential oils, so this so far has been working wonders for me!!!

Marula oil is extracted from the nuts of the Marula tree, it’s used in cosmetics, as a cooking oil, meat preservative and to treat leather! It’s popularly known as Africa’s beauty secret! It’s very light textured, highly nutritious, full of antioxidants and fatty acids, fast absorbing and suitable for all skin types. This multitasking oil is great for the hair and skin!! It’s excellent for taming flyaway hairs and reducing frizz in thick curly hair textures. It’s an amazing sealant, when applied to damp hair it adds shine and moisture to limp, ragged ends.

Modern research confirms that this oil contains powerful antioxidants, high concentrations of essential fatty acids and nutrients that protect the skin and hair against environmental aggressors, boost cellular activity, hydrate to the deepest levels and repair the skin. The high levels of vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential amino acids and flavonoids present in Marula oil helps cells renew and resist the damaging effects of the environment. Regular use provides antioxidant protection and builds collagen, which creates that youthful iridescent glow. In more mature/aging skin, marula oil re-energies the skins weakening ability to produce collagen thereby restoring its suppleness.
Its richness in essential fatty acids of Omega 9-oleic and Omega 6-linoleic make it an elixir that rejuvenates and reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, redness, and blotchiness. It’s also very nutritious to the hair, the presence of these fatty acids make it an excellent hair conditioner and it gives the hair volume and shine!

Whoooop! This awesome versatile oil can be purchased for N3900 HERE only 4 left!!!

Have a blessed day all xxx

MIDAS NATURAL HAIR CARE: PRODUCT REVIEW

Holla guys, this review has been soooo long overdue!!! I have such a backlog of posts!! Sorry I haven’t put it up sooner. Anyway before I decided to stock the Midas Natural hair care range I had to give them a try myself! So obviously I didn’t try all the products at once. But here are the ones I did try initially!

Vita Nourish Co wash

vitanourish

This is a creamy amazing no poo shampoo! In other words it works as a conditioner, for lazy folk like me that’s just awesome! I simply loved it, it smelled divine and melted like butter all over my hair and scalp.  Not to mention it’s an amazing detangler, I couldn’t be bothered to detangle my hair prior to washing and the creamy nature of the cowash allowed me to detangle, cleanse and condition in one go! Yes I loved it!!! My hair felt really silky smooth after this, it was really easy for me to get a comb through my hair during and after this products was applied. This is also excellent for kids, I used this on my little niece’s hair and it was so amazing, her hair is always in a knot and this made unravelling it soo easy!
Ingredients: Aqua(water), coco glucoside, emulsifying wax NF, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, crambe (abyssinica) oil, potassium oleate, potassium cocoate, potassium citrate, palm free vegetable glycerine, phenoxyethanol, xantham gum, blackberry extract, potassium palm kernelate, palm kernel.

Shine Conditioner

shineconditioner

There was a trend of creaminess going down with these products and I liked it. The conditioner has this thick buttery feel to it and again it smelled so good!!! I was done with my co wash and it was on to the deep conditioner. So while my hair was still in sections I took generous amounts and applied this from the roots of my hair to ends. Then I covered my hair with a plastic cap and left it in for about 30-40mins. When I rinsed my hair out, it was soft and bouncy. I mostly make my own deep conditioners, but this was amazing! The process was neat and my hair was strengthened and softened all in one go. Sometimes homemade deep conditioners are a bit messy and quite frankly longggg! So this was the fastest wash day ever for me!!! You can also just use this as a rinse conditioner and apply it to your hair for a few minutes and rinse out.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Organic shea butter, avocado oil, emulsifying wax NF, sweet almond oil, potassium oleate, potassium cocoate, potassium citrate, palm free vegetable glycerine, coconut oil, keratin amino acids, silk amino acids, phenoxyethanol, xantham gum, pomegranate seed extract, potassium palm kernelate, palm kernel.

Whipped Shea hair butter

WHIPPED SHEA HAIR BUTTER

After I was done washing it was time to seal in that moisture. This is a fluffy, white and creamy butter, my hair was damp and it was excellent to apply it while my hair was damp to lock in all the moisture. You can also use it will your hair is in braids, weaves, etc. It feels soft and it makes the hair even softer! My hair was moisturized for days! Like I didn’t re- moisturize until two days later!!! It just makes the hair so supple and glossy! It was also great for making my twist out shinny! So it’s a great sealant and styling product. It can also be used as a moisturizing deep conditioner. I must add again the scent of the vanilla cream fragrance oil just makes this even more amazing! Natural products don’t have to stink! Lol

Ingredients:  Aqua, organic shea butter (butyrospermum parkii), avocado oil (persea gratissima), coconut oil (cocos nucifera), emulsifying wax NF (cetearyl alcohol & polysorbate 60), olive oil (olea europaea), argan oil, crambe seed oil (abyssinica), organic palm oil (elaeis guineesis), stearic acid, xantham gum, phenoxyethanol, vanilla cream fragrance oil.

Hydrating Hair Mist

HYDRATING HAIR MIST

I used this a few days after my wash day just to re moisturize and I really liked it. It came out like a MIST!! And not a shot of water towards my hair so it coats your whole hair pretty quickly. My hair felt pretty moisturized and it was great to make my hair damp before styling with the Whipped hair butter. Aloe Vera juice is the first ingredient in this mist which explains why it is so moisturizing even though it has no water in it. Aloe Vera is an awesome humectant and it’s full of vitamins and fatty acids that are excellent for the hair.

Ingredients: Organic aloe vera leaf juice (Aloe Barbadensis), solubizer, blackberry extract (rubus fructicosus), rich vanilla cream fragrance.

The entire Midas Natural range is totally natural and made from plants. The products are PH balanced, free from sulphates, phthalates, DEA, MEA, TEA, parabens, mineral oils, petrolatum, silicones, gluten etc.

Note Water is the first ingredient in both the conditioner, co wash and whipped hair butter because water is the only source of moisture our hair has. Oils and butters are sealants. Thus these products are excellent keeping the hair moisturized for longer, improving elasticity of the hair and minimizing breakage.
